Hey, very nice design!
When I was a kid, our bunk beds were stacked one on top of the other (Head over head, foot over foot)... ... I was always on top and sister on the bottom... ... It was fun....
Your design is very cool!
I was wondering how they were going to stack... It's really better going off at 90* the way you're going to have it...
Sounds like the second is a little over a year away!
Congratulations!

Thanks Dave. And yes I do mess around, that is why it is taking me so long...but it is going to be sturdy Thanks Joe, my son and his mom looked at a bunch of pics of bunkbeds and came up with a design they liked. Now it's just a matter of me making it look like the pics Thanks Brent. It's been an enjoyable project.

Almost done with the lower bed. The latest work has not been very exciting. A lot of sanding, staining, and the glue up. We are putting the Poly finish on now and it is looking really good. Still got a couple coats of Poly to put on, but here is a pic of the glue up. The headboard progress pics all turned out very poor, but here is the footboard glue up. You can't have too many clamps

Doug, Awesome work.
MAN - I feel like a snail. I can't get anything done nearly as fast as most of you guys.
I keep having to do MANY other things in between.

Thanks guys...its coming along. Everything is finished now except for the 2 caps on the headboard and footboard. They both need 2 more coats of poly which should get finished up today. I'm just wasting time here on the forum while wait for the poly to cure enough to put on another coat.
Tomorrow, when poly is good and cured, I will put it together and take a pic or two.
Tonight I might actually get to fire up the lathe again ;D
Boodrow - Si, es una cervesa Mejicano se llama "Tecate". Muy bueno con limon y sal. Necessito toma mucho Tecate para poquito boracho ;D Me voy mucho tiempos al bano porque necessito tek a peece. In that regard it is probably very similar to your Natty Lite ;D

We learned today our new manager is spanish , if we dont get side ways with grievances maybe he can teach me a lil spanish , kinda like the word of the day. One of my coworkers said if he gets the job ur goin to have to quit listenin to lationo in ur stockroom. I told him Bull Butter ive been doin that for over 4 years now and im no goin to change stations cause he is the new boss. Boodrow

Boodrow I grew up doing farm labor with migrant workers and learned Spanish pretty good. However, I lose more and more of it every year because I don't use it, and that was a long long time ago

Yo tam bien ,hombre Ricardo Ricardo! I didn't know you were bilingual too! I bet you learned the same bad words in Spanish that I did ;D For some reason, the things I remember best are how to ask for a beer, ask where the restroom is, and all the cuss words

Thanks Leo and Rob, but I still am very slow to get things done on the flatwork side. It helps to be retired, but that does not give you as much woodworking time as you would think it would
