Nice looking. I especially like your drawer mounting. Looks neat and very professional.
What about the top?

The top is next. I have never done one before, but it will be 1 inch quartersawn oak with a overhang to keep with the mission look.

Dale that is looking good. Mind if I ask how you attached the front stretchers to the legs.

That's good work, Dale. You did a great job fitting the drawwers and I love that hardware. I'm looking forward toseeing the completed piece.
What finish do you have in mind?

Dale that is looking good. Mind if I ask how you attached the front stretchers to the legs. Fred Mortise and tenon. The upper one is an open mortise on top. Thanxs Cody and Fred. It has been an adventure

Probably Lacquer. I typically dye, sand, then use a blend of Red and brown chestnut lightened with natural minwax for color. It makes for a nice warm mission look and feel.

Can't wait to see the finished product!
What are the dimension for the top? You going to use one piece of solid wood? Or some kind of design using mutliple pieces?

1 inch quartersawn oak with a overhang (somewhere around an inch or so depending on what looks right) to keep with the mission look. Nope, no buyer

So Dale, I missed any pics you might've shown of results of your mastery of the dovetail gadget. I was followin' that thread for awhile, but didnt catch them if they were there. Did you finally get a setting to achieve fair surfaces and almost no gaps? The project looks great so far. Thanks, Mark

It is White Quartersawn. I water tinted with reddish brown transtine, sanded at 220 to fumed look, then stained using a mix of red chestnut, brown chestnut, toned it down with some natural, then added some Valspar Red Mahogany to warm it up. Yep, the top is next. The reason I tint is because it helps bring out the rays after it is sanded a bit so there is a nice contrast between rays and grain. IT took me a while to figure out this process, but it works for me.
