Mike do you have a chip collector or do you shoot them outside too? No chip collector, everything goes outside though other than my planer there really aren't any chips. I try to be careful to not let anything large enough to hurt the impellers go threw. The wild turkeys like to roll around in the dust pile that builds up outside and in the spring I rake it up and use it as mulch around my wife's flower beds (what doesn't get blown away). Thanks ~Mike

OK u peoples has made me so jealous of yalls shops. I have to say there are some very impressive , I think Mikes is #1 , I wouldnt just give the left one , Id give both to have a shop like that. Not to say that the rest are really nice. Im stuck in a 12 x 20 shop I built in 1992. At that time I thought it would be all I would ever need , WRONG . I have so much chit in my shop I have to keep my table saw in the garage and roll it out when I want to use it. Bottom line is im proud for yall. So really nice shops and pics bein shown. I do have a question for Leo , what is that red machine with wheels on it? Cultivator , Roto tiller ? We dont have those here in the south , I do have a tiller that will beat the livin piss out o u whilst u use it. Boodrow And im goin to attempt to show a few pics of my tiny shop.

Hey Boo, Hey, you and Tim are two birds of the same feather. The red thang? Yeah, it's a tiller of sorts! It tills the snow over from the driveway to the side - so we can get the cahs in the driveway. It is heart healthy - some of us older dudes, hearts don't do so well if we don't have a heart healthy snow tiller.

Ok, Boodrow! Now I am feeling more at home. At last someone's whose shop looks more like mine. I do think mine is still the messiest. Maybe by tomorrow I can get the rewiring project done so I have all the lights back on so I can take some pics. Should be fun trying to figure out how to post pics. I have never done that before.

Hey Boo, Hey, you and Tim are two birds of the same feather. I was just gonna' say... Boo's place looks like a shop a fella could be COMFORTABLE in. Also gonna' say... that red thang is a downscale version of what I've got hangin' off th' front of that cute li'l rust-colored Jeep of mine. ALSO gonna' say... HOLY BUCKFLAILS, Leo! That's YOU! EDIT: I should also add... Leo, that 'blower is RIGHT to its limits in them photos. 'Nuther inch & you'd'a hadda' wait till the snow settle 'fore you could blow it.

BR, that's a nice shop you have and that planer sure looks familiar. What is the Walnut casework going to become? It looks like the upper portion of a desk. Boodrow, I'll post your shop pics if you will e-mail them to me.

Hey Cody,
I brought one of those with us back to Calif. from Wisconsin! (back in about 1976)
Real great for cleaning trash in the street, gutter, etc.! Thank God it has never been used for snow, in Calif.! ;D ;D

Hey Ben (br) I notice you also have a Wixey gauge on your planer depth-of-cut scale. Mine is pretty close as-is and I usually caliper the thickness, anyway.
Is the Wixey gauge more acurate or finer accuracy than the stock gauge?

Cody, the casework is the insert for the roll top desk. I'm just working in finnishing it now.
I love the wixey gauge. I can run the head up and down as many times as I want and then set it right down the the thickness I want. My Ridgid planer had stops for depth and I liked being able to run the cutter head down to the stop to get a consistant thikness. I like the Wixey better than that now since I can do any thickness.
I even got one and put it on my drum sander. The only downside is it uses up batterys. I think a battery lasts only about 3 maybe 4 months. Not too bad though.

That is one of the biggest winter warnings. Go to the gym instead.

I've got one of those snow removers like in Cody's picture, too. Works great to scoop up shavings and sawdust after they've had a chance to accumulate in the shop.

Fred nice lookin shop , like the equipment u have in it. I do have a question to ask , the heater u have mounted on the wall , is it natural gas or propane. A friend of mine gave me one a couple weeks ago , I run it on the small propane bottles like for a grill. The amount of heat that things puts out is amazing. Ive been warned it was a gas hog ?? Any truth to that and how do u like ur heater? Boodrow
