In the interest of showing off our shops and possibly picking up some ideas from each other, how about posting pics of your shop in this thread, along with any comments, notations that are pertinent?
The thread can serve the same purpose as a separate forum dedicated to shop pics, but without the need to create said forum. (I wish I could take credit for the idea but actually it was TJ's).
So, show me your shops. I'll post pics of mine when I get back home.

NICE - I have seen this sort of thread elseware and I liked it there too.
I will be in the shop about Tuesday or Wednesday doing the threshold and getting ready for the dresser build.
I'll clean up and take pics then.

Was the small picture size to reflect the small shop?? I like your shop - I think I remember you posting about it when you were getting it ready - I loved it then!! Zac

CLEAN??? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I don't ordinarily do this... but I'll do it this once, just for the shock effect. The twin table saws... out of sight to the left is the shaper & the 12" miter saw. If ya squinch a little you can see three of the router tables... You can BARELY see the tip of the drill press, just to the left of the mill/drill... Jointing/planing area (the white one in the middle is a Foley/Belsaw planer... The big compressor is to the left of the 6" jointer. Turning area (three wood lathes, one teeny metal lathe) in the basement... Grinder station is on the left. The larger 1909 Seneca Falls "Star" metal lathe... The big knee mill... Two of my three spare (obsolete to me) table saws.

Welp, you asked for it. Looking in from the big garage door. Some Lumber Storage Wall opposite lumber storage--my big machine bench. Corner shot showing overhead lumber storage and some machines. Other stuff on lumber storage wall. Hand tool bench. Dirty bench for sharpening and other metal stuff. Note clamps attached to underside of overhead lumber storage. Works great for a bunch of clamps. Band saw and stationary Belt/Disc Sander with other stuff in background. Jointer, planer, and belt/disc sander with cab saw and out feed/storage cabinet in background. Closer Shot of machine bench and "stuff".

The G0586 is pretty popular, too (me, cody and ... at least two others)
And the G0513(x, x2, x2b) 17" bandsaw is fairly well represented as well (me and leo and a few others)

I might be a week or so before the shop is ready for pictures. I tore it apart this weekend so that I could paint the walls and half of the ceiling. I still need to paitn the other half but that will be another time.
I know, why make it pretty? Well, the walls have not been painted in about 30 years and they needed it bad.

Jerry, I love your hand tool bench. I want one!
Tim, are your Grizzly TS bolted together? If so, cool!

Wow, some great responses here. I've already been reminded of a couple things I want to do to my shop. Y'all keep 'em coming, this is great.
Tim, you have to win the "most eclectic shop" award...big surprise, huh? You've got some of everything in there and multiples of everything, too.
Jerry gets the "busiest garage shop" award. That "dirty bench" area reminds me that I need a metal bench for general pounding and such...along with the metal-working vise.
Mike (Autobodyman) hands down has the "most scenic" shop. That ridge in the background with the valley in between is picture postcard stuff. It's a well lit shop, too. That's something I want to do to mine...add more lights.
Thanks for showing your shops, guys. Looking forward to seeing others.

Chris, That was a store bought bench I got from Rockler when they had it on "discontinued sale". I think I paid like $90 for it. It is bolted to the wall and the legs are bolted to the floor. Had to do that to get it stable enough to be useful for hand tool work. Also, removed the original front vise and made some alterations to add the leg vise to it. Part of that alteration included adding an 8/4 by about 6" piece of oak to the front with some dog holes drilled to use my holdfasts. Because it sits on a small step-up from the rest of the floor, it is a little tall, but I've gotten used to it. Got some close-ups of the bench in use here on my website.Mike, Noticed the panel clamps in this pic of your shop. And wondered how they were working for you. Though about getting some, but . . .
