since Jet saws were painted blue?
I found one in a rundown shed/shop. The top is rusted, but the rest looks great. It has a 52" fence. Trying to find out if the guy wants to sell it. And what it be worth.

I don't think I've ever seen a BLUE one... does it seem solid? What's a used saw similar to it go for in your neck of the woods (as seen in the classifieds & CraigsList)?

can't find them in the ads. I'm pretty sure it's a jet. The rails and fence are exacta fence. Delta has the Bessy right? And the power switch is jet. Just didn't look hard enough maybe. But I'm sure jet used to be blue.

I did some pokin' around - apparently Jet manufactured machines in blue, green, and orange, and the general concensus is that the blue ones with the riveted logo (as compared to the decal) were completely good machines - on par with the white machines of today, and sometimes even better in some regards.
So... that saw would be marketable for about half the price of a comparable new white Jet saw. Since it's sitting & rusting, you may well get it for less.

I'll have to talk to the guy and see if I can get it for a few hundred. That would be cool. Goin to check inside the box and see how bad it is. It may not be worth more than scrap.

Yeah Jet was Blue - a long time ago.
If you can get it for $200 and it runs you will be happy.
52" rails? You got the room for it?

I have a blue Jet 14" bandsaw. Bought it at a garage sale for 125.00 , works like a champ for nearlly 2 years now.

I can get it for $400. Going to look at it hard tomarrow, then It may be in by garage tomarrow night. Then find a machine shop to mill the top and wings. Let ya know.

Found out Jet was blue till early 90's. So the new toy may not be that old.
