I picked this jack plane up a while back. I don't recall how much, but it was a reasonable price (or I wouldn't have gotten it). It seemed solid when I got it, though it had quite a bit of rust. It's a bit of a mix-up, as it's a Stanley #5 with a Victory blade and a Miller's Falls lever cap. Some sandpaper and a little vinegar took care of the rust. There's still a big old nick in the blade that needs removal, but I haven't had a chance to break out my belt sander. The tote is broken, but should epoxy up good and tight; even without glue it tightens down without moving. It'll definitely make a good user. Anybody in need of a jack plane? I don't really NEED this one...I've already got two...

I'd suggest posting in the swap area too.... Sorry - I'm good for jack planes.

Every once in a while ya run across a deal too good to pass up (even if it's a mutt). I've got a couple-four jacks myself.

IMHO that Millers Falls lever cap is a distinct improvement for most Stanley bench planes. My best heavy smoother is hot rodded with the best parts from several different planes.
