Nice bowl, beez. I've got a pile of Hackberry logs that Boodrow gave me. I reckon they are gonna rot before I get around to turning them.

Nice job on the bowl Beeze. I like that.
I don't know why, but every time I see a Hackberry turning it reminds me of the "Young Guns" movie where Emilio Estevez plays Billy the Kid and the dinner table conversation where he was the new kid at the Tunstall ranch and the other boys were just "hacking" on him. Then someone asks him about why he killed the man he killed, and he answers "He was hacking on me". I LMAO every time I am reminded of that scene in the movie. In my opinion, that was a very good movie about the New Mexico Lincoln County War. Emilio Estevez, Charlie Sheen, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Kiefer Sutherland...man what a cast of characters.

Great looking bowl, I have never seen hackberry, I don't think it grows up north.

Hackberry really spalts well Cody, maybe you got a small gold mine out there.
Nice bowl Beez, now you need 5 more just like it and then a big one, then of course a hand carved fork and spoon for a nice salad bowl set,you still got nearly 3 weeks.

that is a very nice bowl, I had no idea hackberry was that nice when cut up. I have three hackberry trees on a fence line that I can't stand. I guess after christmas I will have to cut um up and make something with it instead of buring it

I have some that I sawed on the bandsaw a couple years ago and intend to use for small boxes. I cut it up after seeing some Amish furniture online that was crafted from Hackberry.
