Welcome to the place Gerald! I'm in a very similar boat, not knowing what I'm wanting to do just yet. I like turning, and I'd like to do mild furniture making, but then I see these joints with no slack in 'em at all and my toes curl up; that's precision, and I'm more of a sledgehammer kinda guy. We'll figure out where we fit.

Welcome Gerald! I started off in 2006 from scratch and it does not take long to get some good skills under your belt. Along with the knowledge of some of the guys here you should be doing some nice stuff in a short time!

Gerald I BIG welcome man. No problem with not being so sure what ya wana do. I happens [shadow=red,left,300]naturally[/shadow] - you will just decide to do a project - and do it. Also - I know it sounds a bit weird - but the wood will tell you what it wants to be. If ya do the same sort of stuff over and over - then ya know what ya like to do. It has taken me a while - but I find I like to make stuff that is flat, and not big. I like stuff that I can make on top of my workbench.
