Hello all, picked up the sonicrafter tool the other day hoping it would cut down on my hand sanding for the bandsaw boxes I am making for Christmas gifts. Have only just started to play around with it but here is a little info on it so far.
Cost was $179 with 72 pcs and free shipping from amazon, the kit includes most all of the accesorys sold for it and all but maybe 7-8 peices are sand paper triangles. Have only used it for sanding so far. Came with two grits of paper for the finger sander which I used, very course and course, maybe 40 and 80? The very course will chew the wood up really quick and leave deep scratches, lesson learned!!!! Switched to the course and that worked really well to take the bandsaw blade lines out of the boxes if I just let the pressure from the machine do the work for me. It does get heavy in the hand after about 15 minutes of steady use. It is a little bigger than I had hoped it would be, about twice the size of my little dremel carving tool but it will get into some tight curves on the boxes. So far it is saving me time by cutting down on the handsanding I need to do. Time will tell if it was a good purchase or not. Will do a proper review after I have used it a few weeks.
Thanks, Les
