Made good progress on the repair of the wall downstair. Another 24 man hour for the wall repair and 24 man hour painting and I'll be done with the exterior wall. Next is a 10 man hour job of the exterior wiring. Then a 60 hr job on exterior ceiling. Demo of old wall that went well into the night. While the framing looks OK in the pic, it was bowed and had to be all ripped out.

How the NW corner looks with the wall completed. Notice the muddy edge from the hardie panels. That's mud from Ike that soaked into the pallet of hardie panels. Believe it or not Ike moved that whole pallet of hardie panels that was really heavy quite a few feet.

Working on the west wall now. Notice that the scaffold looks funny. I had to cut a foot off all the legs because that scaffold was left outside during the hurricane and the water pushed it against the house and bent all the legs to 45 deg angle. In case you wonder why I keep those old metal chairs. LadyRider has enormous emotional attachment to them. Some day I'll fix them all up. For now I just sprayed a heavy coat of primer and let them sit. Behind the chair is the remnant of a HF DC. I promised to send the impeller of that DC to Leo. I've gotta do that some day. Under the HF DC is that Robin Subaru 13 hp pressure washer that I gave to BradDaNailer. He told me he'll come and get it before year end.

Hey I see you have lights. You can work around the clock now. ;D ;D Just kidding but looks like you got enough work going to keep you out of trouble for a while. Take a break ounce in a while it won't go anywhere.

That's a serious home project for sure. I'm getting tired just looking at the pic. You've got the segment of the project timed huh? I estimate my projects too, then double my estimate. Don't overdo this. Rome wasn't built in a day. Are those Anderson sliding glass doors? Larry

Man, you are one busy beaver. Have Brad run that impeller up to Leo when he picks up the pressure washer. ;D
Lady Rider is right to want to keep those old metal chairs, emotional attachment or no. Someone is making look-a-likes of those these days, but they are no where near the quality of the old ones. Almost tin foil thin metal for the seats, and the frames ain't much better.

Essentially I have all the interior work of a 1500 ft2 house + 300 ft2 shop down there to finish. There will be a bed room, a full bath, a living room, a full kitchen, and a shop. That means all the wiring, insulation, HVAC work, interior wall, plumbing, bathtub setting, painting, cabinetry, flooring etc....

Man, 1500 ft2 seems like an awful lot of added living space. Didn't you end up with water under that area from one of the storms?

BTW I added the space so my inlaws can have their separate quarters and have the feeling of independence while I can keep a watchful eye on them.

Looking VERY GOOD Caj...
Where did you get that scaffolding? What kind is it?
I can see how it helps you a lot!
Take care...
