I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with any LI rigid tools. Specifically their 18 volt lithium ion drill (model# R86006). I had been in the market for another cordless drill and stumbled across a special on this one on the HD site. Normally 199 on sale for $99 with free shipping. I definitely like the idea of the lifetime warranty on batteries and have heard some good things about rigid tools in general so I went ahead and ordered it. Even though I have already ordered it I was hoping someone may have some personal experience with it. Thanks, Vic

I was in Home Depot yesterday and they had several drills out that you could test drive. One was the 18V Li-Ion drill. It was a good solid drill and had no problem driving a 2" screw into the treated 4x4 they had sitting there. It easily counter sunk the screw about 1/2" and would have driven it all the way through without slowing down if I'd stayed on the trigger. It was a new model that didn't have the hi/low gearbox, instead it was autoshift or something like that. Supposed to automatically "downshift" if you need more torque. I liked it except for I thought the trigger was very touchy and I found it hard to use the variable speed at first. It would take some getting used to for me.

Lifetime warranty, even for the battery, is the big plus for me.
