I've had a couple requests for fountain pens and I think I might have to give it a try. Anyone have a favorite kit or hear about any kits...good or bad?
I've looked at the catalogs and just can't decide. I have absolutely zero knowledge concerning fountain pens, so any input will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Jr. Gent fountains are done very often at the IAP - refitted with a nib from Lou Metcalf (very good nibs for about 8 or 10 bucks), and they're apparently the bee's knees..
I don't know how to write cursive worth a dang, so I've never used one...

I second the Jr Gent (or Jr Statesman if you want a little more bling) from CS USA.

I'm not into pens but I recommend you put some ink in it after you turn it of course. ;D

LOL Dick! I'll try to remember that Thanks Andrew and Monty. I looked at the Jr Gent and it does look interesting. I found one at AZ Silhouette that I really liked, but it requires a "B" mandrel and a "V" drill bit, neither of which I have Streamline American Screw Cap Flat Top Fountain Pen: www.arizonasilhouette.com/Berea_Hardwoods_Pen_Kit_Images_12.htm (first pen when you scroll down) Anyone done one of those fountain pens? They look very much like a Classic Twist pen.

That one's not my style, Doug...but I have turned a Baron, and they're very nice! (a bit fiddly to assemble, but they all seem to be)
