I think this is,I really don't remember what king of wood it is maybe Beechnut,that seems to ring a bell.This is a long stem goblet with a captive ring,it is about 14 inches tall the goblet diameter is around 2 inches. I have to go the doc right now so I will post the full view when Iget back after lunch,that way you can think I wonder what that looks like LOL I'm a true a$$ some times. ;D ;D ;D ;D I got done quickly with him so heres the pic and then I'll go to lunch.I started out with two rings but broke one,no tricks here ring was turned in place ,excuse the pic quaility it was taken by the old guy I gave it too and e mailed to me.

Dick that is really cool - the captive ring is pretty cool too - I didn't notice it at first (looked at pics before reading) Also - did you color the rim some how - or is that the way the wood came out? It almost looks.... not really stained - but.... I dunno.... a mix between "wood burned," stained, and natural - lol Quite a feat! Zac

I can't remember what I burnished that rim with ,either a hard wood dowel or a piece of leather.It was probably wood as the leather will really get hot in a large edge like that one.I have also used the handle on a lathe tool but it kinda messes them up, LOL
