This is a cedar chest I built for a co-worker probably about 7 years ago. It was maybe the second big project I had done at that point. Overall I was pretty happy with the result, with the exception of the sap wood that you can see on the a couple of the raised panels. I knew it was going to be noticable, but after putting on the poly it stuck out twice as bad as when unfinished. I dont have a picture of the end but it also has two narrower and taller raised panels on each end. I did the upholstery on the lid but I cant take credit for the pillow, my mom made that with the left over material.

Very nice, I would like to work with some cedar. The green plaid is a nice touch. bmorto

Man, that's nice. You sure did a fine job on it. I like the bracket feet. Cedar chests are probably my favorite all time project. Thanks for showing.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. The chest was made from western red cedar, given to me by my coworkers dad. The inside was lined with aromatic eastern red cedar that was given to me by some amish fellows that have a farm next to my uncles farm in ohio. Cody-I agree about really liking cedar chest. I have made a couple of different ones since, but this has always been my favorite since it was my first.
