Among other things I am a computer nerd. I like to listen to some mp3 music while i work. i got a free 64gb Ipod touch. Since I got it I have been trying to convince myself its not junk (not a big apple fan). But I use if for music in the garage. These are both simple things and not really fine woodworking. Just made to improve my world. Probably the first wood project I have ever painted with the ipod holder. I stained it black first and didn't like how that looked so I spray painted it. Its pine and I cut all the grooves for the ipod to slip into on my bandsaw. Noticed when I took the pictures that I must have nicked the lower left corner with my cordless screw driver when I was putting it up. You can see the circle from the drill. Maybe I will fix that but it will serve its purpose either way.
The linksys router/access point/firewall/hub/switch I have upstairs in the kitchen/den runs hot. Its works well if I keep it on a wire stand but if not it gets hot and locks up. Linksys made it too small trying to make it look nice and really most people just want them to work. So the wire rack I had it on was too bulky. Our kitchen/den is decorated pretty northwoodsy and rustic. So I made these little pine legs to attach to the bottom and keep air circulating around it. When I work on computer and they come from someone working remote from their home they have pet hair in them, cigarette smoke, coffee, food, nests from animals and all sorts of stuff. I get calls from work a lot when I am in the garage. So I pull the laptop out of my truck. Hit my ap and fix problems from the garage. So my laptop is free of cigarette smoke and the rest of the problems I mentioned. But I have to clean a lot of sawdust out of it.
