Hey Y'all
(I did marry a Southern Belle after all)
I'm trying to get the shop in some sort of functioning state and one of the projects I started was a rolling utility cart that would have as part of it's top, a downdraft table.
The dimensions are 32"x32"x32" That will fit pretty nicely under the extension wing of the table saw with a few inches off each side for safety(Of fit)
My question is this:
Look at the pic below and see if I'm making a good choice in the dimension of the down draft element. You can see it's integrated into the top. The LxW is 24"x24". The sides(And hence the HEIGHT) of the chamber will be 3.5" tall with a 1" thick support crossed in the center underneath the peg board for support. This leaves about 2.5" for air flow.
I'll be hooking it up to the shop vac at first, then adapting the Oneida Super Dust Gorilla dust vac afterwards.
Should it be deeper?
The second level will be 9" below the first. I can make the whole 9" part of the downdraft chamber or any part of it, but I lose a big part of my storage.
The circle in the second pic would be a 2" port.
Refer to the schematic, I can run a single 2" port out the one port (d) or in an alternate set up run two ports out (e) and join them up at (f)
Thoughts?
