Mango & Curly Koa

Here is my latest box. It is made from Mango with premium curly Koa for the top panel and corner inlays. The dimensions are 3 x 5 3" tall. The finish is Watco oil top coated with a French Polish. The pictures do not do the top panel justice. Is is alive when viewed in the light and moved. An interesting thing about the inlays is that I put two of them upside down and did not notice until I polished the box. When viewed from the front, you will see one side is gold and the other is brown. Flip the box over and they swap colors due to the way the light reflects off them. The wood I bought from a woodworker I met on the Big Island of Hawaii who works for a company that rescues downed trees. And I will say that so far I love the ease of working with the Mango.

That wood is spectacular and I love the corner detail. I also noticed that it rated Brusso hinges. ;D

Really, please take some more pics when you locate your camera. That box deserves them.

that it can look *THAT* good with that (technically) bad of pictures, says a lot. I mean that looks really awesome.

even with the blurry pics it is easy to see that box is fantastic. I cant wait to see clear pics of this thing
