www.harborfreight.com/14-inch-four-speed-woodworking-bandsaw-32208.htmlCall me crazy but I bought this. You can tear apart harbor freight tools is you want but I have had good luck with them so far. It is a lot better than the bandsaw I have now which is none. I use my scrolling saw or miter saw or table saw or circular saw or jig saw for stuff that a bandsaw is needed for. I also got it for 230 bucks. They had a sale 3 weeks ago and since they didn't have any in stock at the time they gave me a rain check and additional 20% percent off for having to wait for it. Put the base together so far. Everything looks well made. Wanted to get some casters before I finished assembly. I have a large medical bill and scar on my leg from when I tried to stand up my planer on a stand and wheels alone. Live and learn. So I am learing patience here. Going to make resawing a lot safer and easier and yeah I am going to enjoy using the right tool for the right job.

Excellent! It IS HEAVY, that sawhead, ain't it? I can barely believe I put the sawhead on my Griz by myself...

Congratulations. You are gonna LOVE having a bandsaw. I've been using mine all morning long sawing logs into lumber.

Congrats Joel. A lot of HF stuff is pure junk, but some things are real jewels at a very good price. I can't speak for the BS, but it looks like it might be one of those gems. I have several things from HF that are really good including a drill press.
A decent bandsaw is very useful for a whole lot of things, including re-sawing which is one of the things that a BS is particularly good for.
Now, if you have not already done this...check into getting a good blade for it. Timberwolf blades are so much better than the one it comes with that it is not funny. And you may want to get more than 1 blade depending on the uses you have for the saw. Timberwolf employees are good at helping you determine which blades will work best for what you want.
The other thing you may want to look into is a decent fence. I know I struggled with my BS (and, in this case that does not mean Band Saw ;D ) fence and the one I replaced it with is a huge improvement.
Congrats!

I have a harbor freight drill press as well. I have been very happy with it as well. I had a jig saw that I had issues with. I took it back and they replaced it no questions asked. Also bought some clamps that haven't been the best. But then I have bought a lot of stuff there and had very good luck. I do have the opinion that some of the cheaper hand tools are not the best upon my jigsaw and clamp experiences. So if its a hand tool I will not use a lot Harbor freight is fine. But if its something well used I will invest more. I learned that from my clamps. Thanks for the tip on the blade. I will give the one that comes with it a try and keep that in mind if the one with it has any issues at all.

Joel, If you take the time to tune the saw up (remove flashings, make things fit nice and square, etc.) I'm sure that you will have a very usable saw.

Very GOOD! You will like it! Now, one of the first things I would do is get A Pair of These.Besides a GOOD Blade, these were the best thing I have done with mine. Be SAFE!

That is a heck of a good price. I'm really wanting one lately too - not sure what route I'll go.

bandsaw awesome. Buyer happy.
gotta remember to keep my fingers tucked in. But man I have used it a lot already. I got my casters I orders, made a mobile base and finished putting the bandsaw together friday night. So I have had it for 3 days. Already got a bunch of use. After 3 days its already how did I go without and why.

well they gave me a raincheck on mine. Also gave me another 20% off because I said I wished they still sent out the 15% off one item coupons. So she gave me 20% off saying it will be a bit before it is in. When they said 20% off over the 15% I didn't even have I said well that would be even better. Its such a big item and my local harbor freight in iowa here is smaller. You might want to get a raincheck and mention the 15 or 20% off deal if that helps you. 240 for this was not to shabby a deal.

I have eyeballed that saw every time I go into the HF store. I "looks" good.
Glad to hear someone that owns one. Great review.

yeah I had been eyeballing it since the harbor freight opened in my town about 2 or 3 years ago. www.bt3central.com/showthread.php?t=40396&highlight=32208I am thinking about adding this, or well the harbor freight riser (instead of the grizzy one they added in the link) so I can resaw bigger stuff. I am sure I will add this eventually. Probably next paycheck or after I pay down my credit card after putting this HF bandsaw on it.
