I hope y'all ain't tired of looking at Hackberry yet. With the recent turning I've done, I could feel a hollow form coming on and when I saw how that Hackberry bowl looked, I had to try it on a HF, too. I had intended to include a collar and finial all along but while re-familiarizing myself with the HollowMaster, I broke a chunk out of the opening and had to enlarge it bigger than I intended. That's what's called an in-progress design change. It's 8" diameter x 9 1/4" tall, including the finial. Wall thickness is 1/4" or so. I haven't gotten in touch with that Hollowmaster enough to try to go thinner right now. The collar and finial are Walnut from a piece of that stump I cut up. I'd originally intended to ebonize it but thought it looked good natural. Finish is my current favorite, Minwax Antique Oil.

This piece is really quite lacking.... ok - no, seriously....another piece of superb work Cody.
The "handle" thing you turned has some real nice detail to it..... Tired of looking at spalteck hackberry? Nah - the stuff is gorgeous!

very nice, I hope one day soon I can turn one that nice. Gotta go to austin on saturday and already set expectations with my wife I will be stopping by woodcraft before returning home. Will be picking up a new skew and a new hollowmaster among a few other things. I may have to consult your expertise when I get ready to start using it.
