Hey again;
Wasn't sure where to put this one, so I thought here was as good as any other.
I just got done tangling with the mitre gauge that came with the SS, but realize there is better to be had.
I'm looking over the Incra line, the SE seems to be popular, the 5000 looks pretty cool.
Any thoughts or suggestions on a gauge for the TS?

I have the Osborne EB-3 but I don't think you can go wrong with anything that has Incra on it. It's a very popular brand.

Kerry I have the incra 1000 and it is great. Several people have cut into them, The fence is aluminum so you know what that would do. The fence is adjustable so it doesn't have to be an issue. It is a great miter gauge.

I have the incra 2000 - i love it, but i would like to have the one with the telescoping fence and flip stop - the one i have can't use the flip stop without changing out the fence. If you are looking for square cuts, though... even as good as my incra is, I still trust only in my crosscut sled. It has some advantages over a miter gauge that keep it a staple in my shop. First, for 90 degree cuts, something that CAN'T move, generally will not do so very much. Also, a sled offers lots of support that enable me to crosscut wider pieces than i could with a miter gauge.

Another vote for the Osborne EB-3 ... mine has a custom-trimmed right edge where I ran it through a blade a while back. Zero clearance and then some!

I like the Incra, I had one. Sold it and bought a Jessem, which I also like very much. The Jessem is a substantial piece but I don't think any more accurate than the Incra.

Jason's mention of the telescoping fence and flip stop reminded me that mine is the 1000 SE. The SE adds the optional fence and flip stop to the standard 1000.
I also still prefer to use a sled for square cuts, and if I'm gonna be making a number of cross cuts at a different angle I will make an appropriate sled, i.e. made one to make the cuts for 12 piece segmented turnings.
