That's rad. The bottom side is truly a work of art. I have GOT to get my arse in gear and start working on some bowls!!
Know what's holding me back? A friggin' chuck insert that I've been too lazy/cheap to order from Amazon... I've got the dang chuck sitting on a bench!

Cody that is an outstandin piece of work . Ive made 2 bowls out of the hackberry , One I blew up on the lathe , the other I turned the bottom so thin u could see lite threw it. I gave it away. Goin to have to get a lesson from u on how to turn the bottom of a bowl. Boodrow

Did you say 11-1/4" diameter? That thing is huge! Would just barely fit on my lathe...
Excellent spalting. Perfect finish. Gonna be pretty cool when you place that on a table at a craft show....cause it won't be there long!

Thanks for the kind comments, guys. I was really proud of the way this bowl turned out (no pun intended). Sometimes you get lucky and catch the spalting at just the right stage...just before it goes punky. This was one of those times. Thanks again for looking.
