While I had the pen turning stuff out I figured I might as well make something with the Spalted Hackberry that I have been wanting to try out. Since I had to swipe the nib from a Gold Cartridge kit for the replacement pen I made, I figured I might as well use the Gold kit and the Chrome nib to make a Hackberry pen. Thanks to Cody for this wood, it is really nice looking stuff. I sure do like using spalted woods. This particular one I chose for the great knot it had and there is less spalting than the rest of the wood, but I just knew it was going to be a special piece. I really like this one.

It's okay, Doug...KNOT!...it's great. The knot really gives it a focal point.

Thanks guys!
Yeah, I knew it was going to be tough to get back to the flatwork project once I got the lathe spinning again. This is kind of addicting ;D
And I've got an order for a pen/pencil antler set that I need to have completed very soon too so I may have to delay the flatwork a little longer.
I wish I was a fast woodworker, but I'm just a half fast woodworker. ;D
