Black and Gold with stabilized. The cob was generously sent to me by Greg (gregsayers2000). Greg, you stabilizing process works great!! Filled voids and finished with Med CA sanded to 400 grit, buffed with super fine steel wool and polished with Huts Ultra Gloss. As always comments and or suggestions appreciated. Thanks for looking. That is a great corn cob pen Les! I tried them a while back and never had much success. That one is definitely a great one. Nicely done. I need to know more about what process this Greg fellow is using on those cobs...might work on pine cones too!

Well done(drooling on the finish)....is there anything you don't do well?
Always wanted to know where they get those tiny corn cobs from....the corn-on-the-cob I ate the other day would have made a big mallet handle?!?!?

I need to know more about what process this Greg fellow is using on those cobs...might work on pine cones too! Greg's Stabilizing is done by first drilling an 7mm hole through the piece of cob and then soak in MINWAX Wood Hardener for a couple of days. Let dry for a few days and then drill out the 7mm hole to match the kit tube. The stabilized Spalted Maple that was posted early was also stabilized using the MINWAX Wood hardener. No hole drilled in the blank and was soak for 7 days. Les
