Let me just say I never turned Leopard wood until recently. It is some really tough stuff to turn. It flakes off more than shaves off. You have to use a really sharp tool to turn it & have it look decent. But, at least I did not ruin it or blow it out this time. I simply took a little more time (3 days instead of 2) and let the wood tell me what it wanted to do. I'm waiting for the finish to dry before I post any pics of the final product.

Man, you must be a mind reader. I used a skew for most of the work on this monster, and I've never used a skew before. But at least, I made sure it was sharp as a razor. I used medium CA for the primary finish, after using 180, 220, and 400 sandpaper, along with 4/0 steel wool. Then, I used 400 grit sandpaper, and polished it out with 1200 grit sandpaper.
I still have to use my Behlens polish on it to get it completely finished.

You ever try MacGuire Plastic Polish? Get some, save you a lot of time....it's what I use. Four coats med CA/BLO, wait a few, then #0000 steel wool, grab a clean piece of cloth and put a little dab on it. Rub on at pretty low speed.... Flip cloth over and turn up the speed, cloth will get warm and the shine will come out.
