Wondering if anybody here has built a cedar strip canoe. If so, do you still have the mold stations? I would like to find a set @ a decent price. I've looked online and I do not want to spend the ridiculous amount of money on forms. I'm looking to build about a 16' canoe.

I don't have the forms - yet -, but I do have a CNC router and I can very accurately cut the forms out.
I would need the forms in a digital format. A JPG format would work.
I started to make a solid model - from which I would create the forms. However I will not get back to that till late next fall.
I do have a set of points worked out, from Nick Shades book - but have not set them up to cut out yet.
If you have anything like that, I am sure we could work something out.
Ohhhhhh - you said "canoe". I was thinking kayak. Same difference - you provide the JPG, and I can CNC cut them - as long as the forms do not exceed 24" x 24".

Thanks for the quick reply Leo. That is my problem. I can't find anything that gives me the dimensions and shape of the forms. Besides, It will definitely be larger than 24"x24". The beam on the boat I'm hoping to build would be somewhere around 30". Thanks for trying though. I'm still searching and think I may have found a reasonable deal on forms and plans all in one pkg. deal. He wants $90 for both. Now that, I can handle. Some others wanted $300 for forms alone. www.sandypointboatworks.com/billington.html

Leo, I lofted the charts from Nick Shade's book into a chart, and plotted them out onto chart paper a bazillion years ago...
If I find them, would either of those help?

Great news! (for me anyway). Our good friend Larry D. has PM'ed me and is sending me a book that has step by step instructions including plans for the station molds. You just CANNOT beat the folks on this Forum. Thanks again Larry.

Kyle, I will have my wife put it in the mail today, on her way to work.
Enjoy the build and paddle safely.

Generous and expedient. You, Larry are one heckuva guy. I'll be checking that box every few hours in a few days. Make sure you got a return address on there. I want to send you something as well.
