I left this morning to attend a meeting in Houston but about 40 miles from home, I got a call on my cell that one of the attendees had to cancel and the meeting was re-scheduled for Wednesday. No matter, I just kept on going to M&G Sawmill at Huntsville to pick up some Bois d'Arc that I had ordered in late summer. I got 50 bf of 8/4 Bois d'Arc and another 48 bf of SYP...in 12" widths. The Pine was only $1 per bf...the Bois d'Arc a bit higher. img121.imageshack.us/img121/5579/bodark002l.jpg[/img] I hope to make a Rocker from the Bois d'Arc and a Pie Safe from the Pine.

Nice load of lumber Cody. I'm not familiar with the Bois d'Arc . What's it like? Fred It's harder than a woodpecker's lips, it's almost impervious to rot and insects and it's bright yellow when freshly cut. It's also dense and heavy. One of my favorite woods.

That's a pretty pile of wood! Looks like you're going to be resawing quite a bit... Looking forward what you make from it...

Man - I have been away from the shop soooooo - long -- I was starting to forget what wood is.
I cannot do anything outside after work now - so I will most likely start cleaning up the shop and tuning up the machines.
I NEED to make a dresser.

Nice haul Cody. Great looking lumber. And 12" wide SYP for $1.00/bf! That's a dang good price for any wood...but 12" wide...sheesh! That calls for a You Suck!

OK, I see now what you're going to be doing... I don't think I have seen any Bois d'Arc wood... Sounds good! That's a real Exciting Project! Looking forward to seeing it... How long do you think it will take you to complete it?

How long do you think it will take you to complete it? The first one took me 80 hours. I'm hoping to improve on that with this one.

Good haul, Cody! I know SYP can look really great, especially in large projects.
Until you posted about the Bois d'Arc, I've never heard of it. And judging from your previous rocker, it'll be a pleasure seeing this one crafted.
