I spent all afternoon building an arbor at the pool sidewalk. Karen bought a rinky-dink metal one a couple or three years ago an put it there. I planted some Asian Jasmine alongside it and it really did well...so well that it got to where I could hardly walk through the thing. Plus, the metal rusted and started coming apart. So, I cut back the Jasmine last fall, took down the POS metal frame and threw it away. I got the basic framework up today...PT lumber. When I get back home this weekend I'll put some lattice on it and re-plant the Jasmine. I'll also take some pics. It's fun to do carpentry work every now and then. It's more physical than woodworking but is not nearly as precise. I even worked in denim shorts sans shirt and got some sun on my pale old body. It was a pleasurable afternoon. The only thing missing was a cold Corona at quitting time.
