This is something I've been wanting to do for a long time, and just now got a round tuit. Thanks to Cody for the idea from such a long time ago that I was not sure until recently that is was his stopper display that put that idea in the back of my mind until recently. It will hold 12 bottle stoppers plus a bottle in the center with another stopper in it. I salvaged a lazy susan mechanism a long time ago, and finally put it to good use on this project. LOML was a big help to me in this project as she has a lot more patience for cutting the cork material that covers the top of both ovals, especially the one with 13 holes in it. The 3 supports are natural edge "Rescued Firewood" finished with 2 coats of spray on Poly Partially loaded with stoppers Loaded up with stoppers With the bottle added A close up view Oops...I didn't make it big enough for all my stoppers ;D

I could see you expanding on this in so many ways!
Small holes = pen display? Two levels??
Super looking display!!! What are the blocks?(type of wood)

Very good, Doug! I think it would be better if the top circle was made of plexiglass (clear) material... ... one could see the whole stopper. Good design! I think it's a winner! Makes good efficient use of the space!

Thanks Scott and Joe.
Scott, the wood supports are Cliffrose - really a bush, but I got a bunch of it from Utah a couple years ago. They were supposed to be stoppers or pens, but I liked the shaggy bark look and I wanted something that would go with my "Rescued Firewood" theme.
Joe, I could not help myself...I'm a woodworker...not a plexiglassworker ;D Honestly, I never even thought of using anything but wood for this project.
Thanks for the comments guys.

That is so cool I may have to make one!! Dang nice Doug - Joe, I've thought about some type of plexiglass holder..... I dunno - I go back and forth on it. I had the same thought as you - then you could see the whole stopper - but as Doug said..... it's woodworking items so.... I dunno.
Nice job! Cutting cork sucks doesn't it? Glad you have a gal that'll do that for ya!

(not wood) ... just my opinion...

It's great, Doug. It also goes right along with your Rescued Firewood" name.

Thanks for all the replies! And Joe, I really do appreciate all input, including your opinion, and I do seriously consider all input. Just don't take it personally if I disagree with that opionion, OK? I'm sure that using plexiglass would make a fantastic display, it just would not be the best option for my particular presentation. Zac, I am indeed very fortunate to have a very patient cork cutter to help out

Thanks Boodrow. I really appreciate your comments. How many stoppers does that one Cody made hold? I'm almost wishing I had made mine bigger. It was a big hit at the Farmers Market too - people really enjoyed turning it to look at the stoppers. I think it was good to get the stoppers up closer to eye level too. Joe, it would get awfully boring around here if we all agreed all the time

Doug, I see that bottle isn't quite full there, been testing it out?
That is a great idea and a great looking display case. I like the wood display idea for a center piece on a table. I'm going to have to make one for our dining room table. All my stoppers are int he wine cabinet. Why the cork on the bottom? Kind of hides the natural wood grain.
If I was selling them at a craft show, I like the plexiglass idea. It would make them pop.

Trevor, that is one of only a few wines that I really like. Yellowtail Shiraz + anything is a good wine in my very limited wine experience. We tried some of the white wine from Yellowtail and it just did not taste good to me. So, yes, I sampled that bottle You have to know what you are talking about if you are going to sell wine bottle stoppers right? ;D And, I almost never drank wine before now. The cork on the bottom is because I want to be able to put a stopper or two down there without them slipping off. It was just plain Pine anyway, so I did not mind covering it up. Thanks for the comments.
