I know that some people put a maker's mark on some things, just so you know you made it. Is there anyone putting maker's marks on pens? Just curious what it might be if so.

That's something I've never done, nor even contemplated seriously. It's hard to put a SMALL NEAT maker's mark on something like that...

I agree, I was just wondering if someone might put one on the pen under the clip or something like that. Have heard of people laser engraving them, but that is about it so far.

Jeez - it wasn't until Tim's response I realized we aren't talkin' 'bout whiskey! lol
Nah, I don't even attempt to mark my pens. People ask about burning stuff into them or "personalizing" them..... I just explain, it's not like you are applying a brand, or logo on a flat board - it's a convex surface, so it's very difficult - and few get ideal results. IMO, applying a name with the decal applicator that PSI sells makes the pen look cheap and a bit chincy.
I just stick with..... this is a one of a kind pen - made individually, by me.

I never thought about it but I suppose it could be done neatly if you want to invest in a laser engraver. ;D

Well there IS a way that the average hobbyist can do it REALLY nicely with stuff you likely already have at home - plus some REALLY inexpensive stuff you can get at a craft store.

Ahhh - you already got it
Decals.
You can fashion and print you own decals on your printer.
Make anything you want - print it - use it.
I have never done it.
I have seen web sites where is was demonstrated. Maybe a youtube vid. I don't have any links.
It's something on my someday list.

I'm not completely sure I like the thought of a decal, given my car-model-building experience. Dry transfer lettering might be a possibility, oversprayed with lacquer, but time-consuming. I wonder how a heat transfer (from a laser printer) would work...

My first impression was "airbrush and a stencil of some kind". But, the downside is, I don't know of a way to make a stencil with any detail that small. You'd need the same blade used to give houseflies appendectomies.

I use a vinyl cutter to cut a stencil from sand mask, then sandblast. I have used this for collegiate logos, initials, etc. I made a pen for my FIL with the Masonic emblem that turned out real nice. Sometimes I fill the sandblasted design with inlace or crushed stone. Never used this to mark a pen that I made it.

Sandblasting sounds promising! With the right medium, you could get a nice matte out of it - not killer obtrusive, yet clearly visible when ya look.

I put a 'mark' on the game calls I've made, but it's more like initials. Most people that do calls will do this.
Guess you could initial the blank and then apply the finish(after it's dry), but I'm thinking it would be sort of 'cheesy'.

Maybe a small Logo on the clip or ring would do it...( )

Yeah, I'm agreeing with ya'll, it would be hard, just didn't kow if anyone had done it before. I would think the decals would look kinda cheesey, and you would need something really tiny, and no detail could come from the decals. More answers if you come up with anything!

I know a couple people who (now or after a little more toolup) could engrave on the center band...
