While posting some pictures for the grain match tutorial, I came across this wip on my server. I had forgot I had this. This box was done for a fellow woodworker a few years ago and the progress was posted for him. I thought some of you might be interested it. www.geckosboxes.com/gecko%20wip.htm

WOW - what a tutorial
I could not get the last half to appear - the pics were little der x's on the last half of the document.
I really want to print that out and add it to my Shop Notes binder.
AWESOME - TOP NOTCH
That sets the bar for tutorials for sure
THANK YOU.
Your work is amazing - Love it.

Excellent Rick. My hat is off to you guys who build boxes. The attention to detail involved is amazing. There is no room for error when you work small.

Thanks a lot for that tutorial, Gecko. I have a project in mind for a niece who is graduating and this will help a lot.

Good job Gecko.
That was interesting.
I like the "watch out for this", "don't do this", and especially the "this is how I fix that" parts.
Most tutorials don't include the "oops", assuming we'll get it right the first time.
Thanks.

That is a great tutorial, Gecko. You spent some major time putting that together and it's appreciated.
I see now how to get a four-corner grain match...resaw for a bookmatch on the fourth corner! Sometimes the most mysterious things turn out to be simple...after they are explained. ;D
I kept thinking one continuous board and couldn't figure out how the last corner was gonna match. Thanks for the explanation.

Thanks guys. I am glad some of you might make use of it. All the documented mistakes, while making it real, are kind-of embarrassing. And yes it was a lot of work to do but we had fun talking about the process as it went on. Cody; Now you tell me all I had to do was tell you to re-saw and book match?! I did two runs of re-sawing, shooting photos, editing photos, did a write up, and getting it all posted in the tutorial forum and all I had to do was ask you what did you need to know? Boy do I feel silly. Oh well, hopefully someone will need the info and find it there someday.

There's a lot of other good info in there too that I and everybody here can use. Don't feel silly, feel rewarded that you contributed positively to this forum. Never underestimate the value and credibility that WIP pictures have over simply spouting out advice. Anybody can give advice, whether it's right or wrong. Those WIP pics don't guess, they don't exaggerate and they are a valuable tool for the woodworkers here.
Thanks again for posting the tutorial.
