For the guys who sell at shows and what not - what do you use for bottle stopper displays?
I made some pen displays right similar to what Doug uses (thanks Doug!) and like them quit a bit - pretty easy to make, doesn't take much material, and you can make them however long you want.
I made a couple stopper displays basically the same way - but I was wondering what everyone else does.... I am thinking I need to make a couple more - OR find a way to stand them up vertically.... here's the deal - I don't want some huge elaborate shelf thing to set up on the table because this needs to be easily transported and I don't want to have to worry about banging it all to heck or breaking it....plus I don't want it to be huge.
Just curious what everyone else uses.
Thanks! Zac

Boodrow - super simple to make. You just drill evenly space holes in the center of a piece of wood....a few inches or so wide, and rip it in half on the TS....bingo - you got two holders!

Zac,
Havent made it yet, but my plan is to turn a wine bottle from some redwood or fir, and drill holes with counterbores at angles around it. I've seen one that holds 15 stoppers, including one in the position where stoppers usually grace a bottle. A fellow "merchant" on ETSY has one listed for $35.
Haven't committed to a craft sale yet, but I better get with it.
Thanks, Mark

Zac, besides the ones I already have, I have been wanting to make a round display that will spin on a lazy susan and has room for a wine bottle in the middle.
I don't remember for sure where I got the idea from, but I think it might have been Cody that made one like that one time. Wherever the idea came from, I'm real close to making one - got the hardware and 2 oval pieces of wood and just need to drill some holes and then put it all together.

Here's a version I made for Karen to hold wine glasses. For stoppers, simply drill holes in the top and bottom for the stoppers to sit inside. The base will also need a circular groove turned in it to provide room for the stopper ends. On this one and I think the one I made Boodrow, the upper part has a round "tenon" that sits inside a round "mortise" turned into the base. On a subsequent one I made, I used a 4" lazy susan mechanism from CSUSA. The lazy susan style is the way to go as it turns effortlessly.
