I just ordered the Freud LU84RO11 50 tooth ATB combo blade. I've never run a Freud saw blade before and was wondering if anyone had comments about this particular one.
I read elsewhere that it was a quality blade but value the opinion from the members here that know about it.

Freud blades are all I've used for 5 years now.

Can't comment on the LU84 blades, but I run their LU72, LU85, and LU95 blades. They're VERY good.

I used to run them too and liked them, only one bad thing about them which seems to apply to all manufactures is that they will hurt you if you are not careful.

I don't know about the model numbers - I never did pay any attention to that.
BUT,
I have used Freud for years almost exclusively, after trying a bunch of different blades.
On my SCMS - I have a 12" 80-90 tooth
On my table saw I have a Glue Line Rip (30T?).
I used a 50 tooth combo blade for years - but I switched to dedicated rip in the TS - and if does a LOT better rip than the combo blade.
I do occasionally use the combo blade, and a 7-1/4 super thin circular saw blade in the TS - depending on what I am doing.
MOST of the time though - the Glue Line Rip blade is in the TS.
I like Freud - router bits too.

I've still got a couple of the thin kerf versions of their ATB-R blades that I got for my old saw. I prefer the Freuds to the WWII that I have.

Thanks for the input, guys. I feel good about the purchase now.
I've been satisfied with my WWII but recently I was modifying a shop-built jig and hit a drywall screw with it. I need to send it off for sharpening and thought I'd try something a bit less expensive in the interim.

I would love to hear your reviews in comparison to the WWII blade.

Likewise I've only been using Tenryu and Freud blades so it'd be nice to hear someone who's worn differen't shoes while strollin' around a bit

No problem. One thing I'll always have is an opinion. ;D
