Yeah, somebody'll bite at it - they'll be outta' time, or they'll be an impulse shopper not at all familiar with wooden pens.
That's what I charged for quite a few of my first pens - not premium ones, either. They seemed to move pretty well at that price.

Someone will probably buy it but it doesn't look that well turned to me. The lower blank looks to be larger than the center band.
But, unless it was placed alongside one of say, Les' pens, most buyers probably wouldn't know any better.

You amateurs probably did not notice this, but that is a "left handed" pen and those demand a real premium price ;D Funny thing about etsy is that I've seen much nicer pens than those going for less than $20.00.

Oh heck yeah, that plain Jane stock Euro is well worth $65. Good thing he didn't try for a decent finish on the wood, or it would have out shown the cheapo non-upgraded plating. Of course, wouldn't have to sell a bunch of those at that price to start showing a profit on the venture.

Down to $42.99 now, guess $65 was not putting him into the selling enough #'s category!

Yeah, $65 is a bit much for that pen, even $42 is too much. On a side note, have you seen what Barry Gross charges for his pens? I saw his pens last year at a wood show, the cheapest one was about $185.

Well, is Barry Gross the "Festool" of the pen turning genre? Sure, it is probably a superb pen, is it worth $185?? Of course, at that point you are probably plating the things your self, custom fittings, etc.....

Actually, having looked at it, none of the wood parts match the metal stuff. Down at the nib it looks noticeably smaller in size, at the CB it is much bigger, and on the clip end it looks a little undersized. Unless dude mined the gold himself, he's screwing the buyer.

Seems like there is a market for everything according to price. I have a sceptre 46 inch tv in my kitchen/den area. Mounted on the wall with a 50 dollar monoprice.com mount. A website I highly suggest by the way. With a 78 dollar blue ray dvd player . The sceptre was bought after thanksgiving at walmart.com. It is actually the same guts as a much more expensive sony. I can tell because all the on screen setups are the same as an inlaws sony tv. It is a spectacular picture and tv. The same tv as a sony is twice the price. The bracket is built like a tank and holds over 200 pounds. Because I hung from it. I am sure it could hold much more. the same bracket at best buy is 4 times or more. The blu-ray player was also an after thanksgiving purchase. Right now most blu-ray players are 150-200 I believe. But have not looked lately. Sony and best buy sell a lot of product. People pay up to 600 for mounting brackets. So you might narrow your market by charging more but there is always someone with disposable cash that sees that prices and assumes its higher quality because of the price.
