We wanted to get our grandson an outdoor play set for birthday #2, but I didn't want him to have one like all the other kids in the neighborhood. I searched the internet and found a pirate ship playset and thought - THIS IS IT. So I got busy drawing the plans from the picture. I think I wore out my digital angle finder. The base is PT pine, everything else is cedar. This was the most fun project i have ever built. I built it in my driveway and hauled it 15 miles to my son's house on a trailer. Once there, I installed the mast, swings, slide, and swing frame. Main deck is 4'8", slide deck is 6'. Overall length is 16' Inside the hull is the clubhouse. The only ships wheels I could find to buy were flimsy plastic, so i had to make one.

That is outstanding! I want a copy of your plans!
Seriously, my grandson turns two this fall and I'd like to build him something like that in our backyard. I'd be willing to pay for the plans since you went to the trouble to draw them up.
Where did you get the Jolly Roger flag?

What a Fantastic gift / project! Yes, I can imagine the FUN you had with it! ;D ;D but... I think you'll have to wait a few long years before you can furnish the "bottle of rum"! ;D ;D Very nice... Do you have plans? Where did you get the slide, swings, etc.?

Captain Charlie has a cool grandpa.
This has to be a one of a kind play set, I like it.

I ordered the slide and swings from Playproviders. The pirate flag is from Rhode Island novelty, I also got pirate hats, pirate bubbles, and some more items for the kids at the birthday party from them. Cody, my plans were actually a couple of very rough sketches and some scribbles. If I still had them, you would be welcome to them. The base "plan" was drawn on my driveway with chalk. I have seen the work you posted, this would be no problem for you.
