...but this one has a custom made holder for displaying it Made for a friend who just turned 50. The "holder" is a small Pine cone CA glued onto a round slice of Algerita branch that includes a natural edge on it. Some pieces of this Algerita, which is a local wood here in NM, has a very brilliant yellow color like this piece does. Bloodwood, Walnut, and Boxelder Burl are the wood accents on the stopper.

Too cool, Doug!
That would be a good way to display stoppers at your shows.

Very unique idea with the display holder! Should get the attention of prospective buyers. Are you going to sell the display stand with the stopper? Would make a great conversation piece too.

Thanks for the comments. This is definitely a work in progress.
Yes, we are thinking about something similar for displays at the craft shows. We still have not worked out the details and whether or not to actually sell them and for how much.
I'm wondering if it might bring in customers who just want to display the stoppers, and not even use them as stoppers.
I think I need to improve on the design before I get to that point though...it still looks not quite right to me. I'm thinking about adding something to the top like some hardwood with a tapered hole for the stopper or maybe something recessed down into the cone leaving it more natural looking on the top of the holder. I'm undecided on how much of the stopper hardware should show too.
What do you guys think? Any suggestions?
