I can see where it could be better to have installed the dividers into the carcass dados first. Then, connect the other things to them to hold the carcass together and square. ... but, if you're careful and still make all of the required connections, I guess you could still Skin-the-cat a different way... ;D ;D We learn by following our GUT... Just keep on plugging away at it... think things out the best way you can... and see how it goes... ;D ;D It's part of the FUN of building something... I don't think you will totally screw it up... so, just keep on doing your best the best way you think it out & see what happens. ... just my opinion... ;D ;D

Maybe I am totally missing the boat - but I am not having a problem.
This is going together exactly as planned.
What am I missing?

Looks great Leo. For me the fun in woodworking is figuring out how to make things work. If in the end it all goes together and it looks the way you want it to, then you did it right. Along the way, you may figure out ways to do it better the next time, but that's all part of the fun.

The cabinet is looking great, Leo. You are more of a furniture designer than you think and a fine woodworker, too.
Keep the posts and pics coming. This thread is great, too.

That little bit of extra thickness in the top will add to the "looks" of the piece. Lookin darn good already.

Well - the top didn't end up thick and beefy. After sanding and flattening, it ended up just a tad over 3/4. Still looks good though. So I finished the top. Sanded it I routed a tabled edge router bit around 3 edges Sanded again by hand with a double sized hand block sander. I gave it a wash coat with 1# cut garnet shellac. I coated it all around, top and bottom

That top looks great, Leo. I love the edge treatment.
Was that gobbler in your yard? We don't have any wild turkeys here in E.T.
