Nice Rob. Question, do you do the mortises before you taper the legs? Nice looking lumber.

How do you taper? By hand? Thank you, foks. Nope, I didn't taper by hand. I have a tablesaw jig I made a couple years back that works pretty well. Question, do you do the mortises before you taper the legs? Nice looking lumber. No, I drilled the mortises out after I tapered the legs. I indexed off the outside edges that weren't tapered, while drilling, so no problems doing that.

Ahhhhh...and I finished squaring up the mortises this evening. That's a nice feeling. Here's to hoping I can get the tenons done on Saturday so I can start sanding and prep for finishing.

I'm surprised Rob will even look at M&T after hacking out the 152 mortises in that crib.

You are making good progress, Rob. BTW, I have one of those NYW style tapering jigs but I generally just use a purpose built one.
