LOML talked me into getting these necklace pen kits to use at the craft shows for those people who say they always lose pens and so they could not justify buying an expensive pen. They cannot use that excuse anymore ;D The string goes around your neck and the pen hangs down below your neck in a convenient position. Good conversation pieces on the display table, and people seemed genuinely interested in them, especially a couple of teachers. First is using some Boxelder Burl with lots of pink color, courtesy of Autobodyman. Thanks Mike, I love this wood! I still do not know why my pics show this wood as orange in color rather than pink - my other pics seem to pick up the correct colors but this pink just does not show up correctly. And the other is Colorgrain wood - another crowd favorite at the craft shows

Doug, I would probably need to be "talked into" those too. I do not like things like that at all, no no - not yours, just the "necklace pen" idea.... BUT - I can not deny that there are probably people out there will will LOVE IT. First of all, providing a wanted product is cool, second, sales are cool so..... it's a win-win with a sale of something like this. I remember other pens you've posted with the BE burl - beautiful stuff. I'm sure you will make some sales with these, which - that's the important thing right? The pens you made (especially that BE burl) look great, thanks for sharing! Zac

Thanks Joe and Zac. These pens have already been worth making...just for the attention they get. I forgot to mention how they work - they have a quick connect on the finial end that works just like those key rings that have a similar type of quick disconnect. They are very good "show and tell" type items to use for demonstration purposes. It is easy to demonstrate how they work and people really "get it" on their purpose. It helps that they have some "bling" quality to them too
