Karen picked up the grandson yesterday and we have him for the weekend. That will be our primary focus.
Yesterday was a warm, beautiful day and we got some yard work done...raked and hauled off leaves (grandson rode on the lawn tractor with Paw-Paw), trimmed some more shrubs and rose bushes and pulled up last year's Periwinkles.
I took the grandson riding on the 4-wheeler and even got in a bit of woodworking. I finished the lid on a box I've been making.
I hope to finish the box today and maybe get in some more yard work. Spring is springing in East Texas.

Sadly, spring seems to be springing in southern Maine as well - feels like late April or early May out there.
I got a block of time today, so I'm working on the kitchen table some more. Hoping to get everything done through the mortise and tenons for the legs/apron, and hopefully part of the way into those too.

Just got back from about 7 miles on the bike.
Light jacket - blue sky - 54 degrees - very gentle breeze - AWESOME.
Little by little - I am getting back on the bike. I ain't done that since about 1985 ;D ;D
A short break - then back in the shop.

Betcha you gotta a sore Choad! A sore what? If ya mean my seat - yeah a little - but the more you ride the easier that gets. I have ridden 100 miles on the seat I have. And yes the 100 was all in one day. It takes a while to get used to it.

Did the craft show thing at the Farmers and Crafts Market this morning. Tonight is dancing believe it or not. It is my anniversary and I always take LOML boot scootin' on our anniversary so, no shop time at all today But that is OK because I made 8 pens yesterday, and 15 in the past 3 days, and 24 in the last week, so I am ready for a break from the shop. It sure has been nice weather too! Enjoyed a good cigar and 70* temps this afternoon. ;D

well i am pleased to be settling down after day 1 of my vacation time. I plan to finish my lift table this week while I have the time. HarborFreight was nice enough to let me test that Long-Throw bottle jack first. Turns out it wasn't TOO upset about being used sideways, but in the end, the minimum length was about 24 1/4 - i could make it fit in the mechanism, but only just barely. Plus it would result in the table having to come to rest more'n 8" off the floor. The air power was NEAT, though. So instead, I took it back and picked up a porta power from 'em. It's on sale today for $79 and I had a 20% coupon thanks to Wood Magazine which put it at $63 total out the door. I saw an air hydraulic pump up there for only $37. I'll wait'll it's on sale and i have another coupon and pick that up if i really need to. I'll have to make up some mounts for the ram under the table but it shouldn't be too bad. Blue Collar closed at 4 today, 3 minutes before I got back over there to pick up some steel bits big enough for the mounts - bummer. But, being off all week, I don't mind waitin' till monday - beats waitin' till NEXT saturday! I'm all set to have me a workin' lift table before the week's up

Made a small table for wife to use at work. Nothing fancy but it is solid cherry,34"x17" and 22" high. Next week do taxes , It is suppose to be above freezing so maybe it will dry up some of the mud.

Yesterday, I got a few hours of shop time up 'til around noon. Then I cleaned up the yard a little bit (sunny & upper 40's). Then about 4 ish, the 3yo grandson come over to spend the night. We tinkered in the yard a litttle more, then did 3yo stuff the rest of the night.
All in all, a real good day.
Today, I'll start the day doing 3yo stuff. When his mom & dad pick him up, I hope to get back out in the shop. We'll see.

worked on kitchen cabinets for the inlaws saturday. Got everything cut. Worked on a pizza peel for me saturday as well. Got to the point i could glue it up and did. cleaned up the garage. Went to arena football and rooted hard for the home team. Had fun with friends. Went to eat after the game. Got a ride home because the miller lite was going down too well and I was smart enough to ask for a ride.
Worked some with my router on cabinets sunday and hung out with my boys and beautiful misses the rest of the day and all the times in between this weekend. Good weekend. too bad monday is here. Maybe I can get back to that pizza peel I glued up tonight do some finish work on it and round and bevel everything on it.
