30-06 Cartridge Twist Pen dressed in Black Locust Still experimenting with the number of coats(CA/BLO). This one got 4 coats, did the EEE, and finally buffed with Minwax paste wax.  Critique is very appreicated! Scott (like the semi-cross grain patent) B |

It's a nice looking pen - the bullet cartridge sure is shiny! I'm still working with my CA finish - not sure if I want to increase 4 coats to 5 coats - or just stick with the 4. I found a pen that the finish was CA but seems to have worn off much too soon, to be fair, though - the pen never seemed quite right in terms of finishing IMO.

IMHO your photo sure looks much better!
Can see a lot more detail.
What finish do you use on the brass casing?
