It's awesome, it's awesome because that is a HUGE undertaking, and it turned out awesome so..... it's awesome-awesome.
Comments? Well.... I am guilty of this too so, I'll ask it in more of a question. Looking at the pictures yourself..... do you see any areas where a board or piece of wood with a different grain pattern may have fit or looked a little "better'?
I'm guilty of using a piece that may not have the best matching grain - but because I can't hardly bring myself to waste anythings..... eh - sometimes I use something that maybe should just be burned.
That's awesome - you should be good on that honey do list for quite some time! Zac

That's pretty work with oak. I really like your idea on the cable box/TV stand holder piece. That's a very nice look. For on top of my dresser in the BR I made one out of old maple headboards to hold my satellite receiver and VCR/DVD player. It had a 27" analog TV stacked on it so it was a lot beefier and does not compare to yours at all. It is more functional than ascetic. Now I have a 32" flat screen on it which is a lot lighter. Larry

I know what you mean by different 'grains'.First off-let me say that this was my first 'furniture' project.Almost everything else I've built was 'functional'! Trouble is,I have no patience!I want to design, build and use the same day!Looking with hindsight-I should have taken more care in choosing the boards for different applications.I will try to take the time to do it right next time. That's where experience comes in I guess. Anyways-for a first try I'm very pleased, and of course more importantly-so is the boss!! Mike

Mike,
I too suffer from the lack of patience, but I tell ya what - we'd BOTH be rewarded greatly if we exercised more of it.
This is quite an awesome turn out for your first "real" project. Thanks for sharing!

Mike,
You did a remarkable job, being this is your first furniture project.
Most wood workers would not attempt such a project of this magnitude. You did real good in my opinion.
That suite will last for many years to come.
Thanks for sharing.
