I didn't get a chance to turn a pen at the Woodworking Show, but just watching it renewed my interest in turning. I'm not sure quite yet where it's going to go, but as soon as it is warm enough I'm getting out that mini-lathe and start making some shavings!! My first project won't be anything too elaborate, just a couple of wooden pins I need, but it will get me back into the feel of the tools in my hand again.

glad to hear your back in the game, well sort of. Turning is a lot of fun and to me it is like instant gratification. Especially, since I can make most things in an hour or less.

I'm planning on doing all sorts of woodworking for years to come, but I figure turning is something that I can do even after I have to give up the bigger machines with more bite to them. And I agree with you on that instant gratification. Of course, while I am re-learning it will be more a matter of instant frustration. PP

To me, woodworking is like therapy. I like the feel of wood in my hand, looking at the beauty of the Lord's work, etc. I just don't like having to sweep up all the mess afterwards.
