This is a chrome cigar kit I picked up in austin a month or so ago when I was at woodcraft. They box elder burl blank came from woodturningz. I really like the stabilized box elder burl. It turns and polishes easy. I did a ca finish, mm thru 12k and eee. I am not sure if ca is necessary on stabilized blanks but I did it any way. I was thinking of trying to selling it for around $50-65 since I have around $15 in it and it took about an hour to make.

I like that pen a lot - in fact, when Woodturningz opens on Monday I'll be order some cigar kits and some other supplies from them.
That is a great looking pen.... I would have done the CA finish too, even though the blank is stabilized.... I KNOW what kind of finish the CA will provide, not sure what just a polished stabilized surface would provide for protection.
The price..... well - it's a beautiful pen.... I'm not arguing it's worth - and a lot of other guys could probably get that much in their areas..... I do not, however, think I could sell that pen in my area for $50.00.... MAYBE $50 at the right kinda venue, right kinda person - but I highly doubt anything higher. BUT - most importantly - you mark it at what you think it's worth. Don't sell it for less than that....unless it's your "business" and you are solely about making extra money.... then price it to sell.... most guys are doing it cuz they love it and it's a way to get a few extra bucks.
I believe Boodrow said "I'd rather throw a pen out the window and run it over with my truck than sell it for less than I thought it was wroth." I loved that - and stick to it.

Nice cigar Mav. I love it.
That stabilized wood is great stuff to turn and that particular BEB is gorgous. And I always put a CA finish on stabilized blanks too - I think they still need it.
