I decided to go with a new Grizzly G0624 lathe instead of one from PSI. It just arrived today. Here's some pics of it. ;D

I'm reading the manual now. I don't want to chance tearing it up right out of the box. When I get it down to my basement & set up fully, I'll post some more pics. This is actually only the 5th new power tool I've ever bought. The rest were given to me when my dad died, or I got them at yard sales, etc.

Now that we've got you hooked, I think I really need to tell you that the lathe is just the very tip of the humongous iceberg of stuff you "NEEEEED" for turning. ;D

Zac Oh, I've already got chucks, turning tools, pen blanks, etc. I talked my wife into it, by showing her what a "great deal" it was. ;D

Congrats TF! I'm glad you talked your wife into it. What's the first project you're going to make with it?

Congrats TF! I'm glad you talked your wife into it. What's the first project you're going to make with it? I was working on a Cocobolo Slim Line pen on my big lathe, but it got to the point I couldn't finish it. I guess that's my first "wanna-do" project. Then I gotta start making pens for my wife's family, etc. That's one reason I talked her into the lathe in the first place.

Did you sell your home brewing gear and buy this instead of the snowblower? ;D

No, I had some Christmas money left over & my wife advanced me some of my tax refund for the rest.
