OK now that I have bought the stuff to do this , I have a question for u pen dippers , what is the shelf life of the laquer , thinner mix? The reason I ask this is do I go ahead and make up a quart of 50/50 mix if so Id hate to pour it out if it only last a couple days. Boodrow

Good question Boodrow, and one I have no idea of the answer.
I usually stir the dipping mixture up before using it, but that is no different than what I do to full strength lacquer or Polyurethane anyway. I'm guessing you will get too many solids to be stirred back into solution at some point in time, but it should be pretty obvious that it is time to change it out.

Should last indefinitely as long as you keep the lid on it nice and tight. Precatylized lacquer has a shelf life, but regular lacquer really doesn't.

That Bloxygen (sp?) works REAL GOOD... ... just spray a little in the can before closing it...
When you open it, after a few weeks, etc., it will be as FRESH as the last day you used it.
No films to mess with, etc.
Good stuff.

I keep my Lacquer dipping solution in a glass jar and have been using it since before Christmas. It still looks fine and I've used it several time recently.

Go to Exum's and get some M.L. Campbell brand lacquer. It's on Old Grande Rd. between Old Jacksonville road and 155. It's the highest quality lacquer I've used and they carry the full line with sanding sealer, and add ins like retarder, and flattening agents. They can answer your questions too.
