Very nice Joe! I'm still puzzled on precisely how you did it, but I think that's the allure of 'em. Now all I've got to do is keep a few of my friends from seeing them and expecting me to make some for them!

My best advice... Just start saving all of your plywood scraps... it can be glued together very easily... edge to edge of face to face. It also helps to use a good grade of plywood... with fewer or NO voids.

I know what you went through. Years ago I made a table top from end grain (showing) plywood. 2 1/2" x 3/4" strips, glued face to face with end grain up. It was a PITA sanding and finishing, but it did have a wild grainy look.
Baltic Birch, Apple Ply, or marine grade plywoods = no voids.
