I'm thinkin of ditchen my router table and puttin it in my TS wing. I'm gonna keep the freud fence. What I want to know is what lift you all use? I think the router may be back pretty far for easy adjust ment, and a lift would solve the problem.

I've also got a Rousseau lift that I'm very satisfied with. I got a double discount at Amazon on it and IIRC, it was less than $100 total.
It fit the 890 PC I have and also fit in the Rousseau insert opening that I already had routed in my table so installation was as simple as just dropping it in.
It's the only lift I have ever used and is probably not near the best but it was a great value at the time. There's no slop in the mechanism and it works very well, IMHO.

I have two router lifts for one router table.
When I need to move precisely between two parts of the same router, I drop in the original Professional Router Lift (PRL) from Woodpecker.
For most all around use, I use the new, version 2 of the PRL.
The original lift has an "Eliminator" installed and the bit can be changed using a 5/32" hex key.
The version 2 is easily raised above the table for two wrench bit changes.
I've used a few others at stores and school. IMNSHO, the PRL can not be beat.

Cool, thanks guys. I'll have to do a little more checking. I have a Makita router and since it takes 2 wrenches, it may be better to get one that will lift it that high.

I bought the Bench Dog 40-016 ProLift Max Router and coupled it with the PC 7518. I started with a phenolic base and managed to break two of them, so decided to make the BIG jump. I kept the Frued fence (I really like it's adjustment set up) and dumped everything into a 30"x48" table on wheels. I use this more than my four other routers combined. Part of the reason is the quick bit changes. Since there is nothing in the way, its even quicker than any of my hand held units, even those with arbor locks. For some reviews of these things, check out the following page, then do some serious shopping. www.amazon.com/Bench-Dog-40-016-ProLift-Top-Adjustment/dp/B00005RKNWAs a quick aside, I was pretty impressed with the Woodpecker units too, but wouldn't trade my unit any time soon.
