I saw this ad on my local craigslist for a Jet JTAS-10: newlondon.craigslist.org/tls/1566571682.htmlThe guy is selling other stuff too, so it appears he is getting out of woodworking. Does this look like a good deal? I have been using a folding contractor Ridgid saw for the last 6 years, but have been thinking about upgrading to something nicer. I also have a friend who keeps asking to buy my old saw, so I know I can get rid of it easily. Is there an easy way to mount a router on these Jet setup? I would love to get rid of my router table too if I could integrate both into 1 setup. The same friend wants to buy the router table.

I'd offer 800 and see if you can get it between that, and 1000. IF you really like the saw - it does look like a pretty sweet set up, and think about selling your saw for what - 200 bucks? More?
I think it has the makings for a good deal. As far as a router table set up for it? Not sure of any "after market" type things you can add to it - but it would be easy enough to make something yourself if you really wanted one of the wings to house a router. I personally would prefer a separate router table unless you positively do not have the room for it.

I'll second Zac
That ain't a screamin' price - it's an ehh ... price ... price. It's a starting point if he's willing to haggle a fair bit. I wouldn't go over a grand.

Twelve C notes seems to be close to retail for the saw alone.

I think that table extension and rolling stand is worth quite a bit for a saw that large....... still - I wouldn't pay full price on the saw just to get the "extras."
He'd have to come down before I'd buy it - heck, he's asking to come down by his comment.
Good luck! Zac

That saw sells here for $1699.99 w/o the stand. Worth a grand, sure. Any more and ya may as well buy new and get the warranty. And yes, you can mount a router in there. The extention is malamine, or like it,. All ya got to do is get an insert for a router table, follow directions, and install. Unlike a table, your router is exposed to everything onder there. You can use the saw fence, though I'd put a sacrafice face on it. And you can use an after market fence like the Freud.

It does look like a very nice saw, extensions, & base...
Might be a good idea to FIRST look at it... turn the cranks, fiddle with blade & fence, etc. before making an OFFER on it...
Don't forget the above comments on the price, etc.

I looked at it today, but decided to pass without making an offer. I'll wait and get a saw stop.

Well, at least you were able to check it out, it's cool if you want to wait and get a SS - nothing wrong with that. Question - did you like the saw at least? Was it a nice looking saw??

His saw is still available, but I came across a different Jet (JTS-10DD) for $250. I going to seeit next week. It's not a Saw Stop, but it's better than what I have at 1/10 the price of a SS.

I didn't get to see the craigslist ad as it was already deleted by the time I got there.
For what its worth - I have a JET contractors saw with 2 cast iron wings. I would say that it is a nice saw. I have had it since 2003 and have had no problems at all with it.
For $1000 - I will be seriously looking at the Grizzly 2-3 hp cabinet saw.

The nice cabinet saw was just too large for my current shop, and the price wasn't great. I did decide to buy the JTS-10DD. It's direct drive, but a small step up in quality from the Ridgid I was using. I have some friends who kept asking me to buy my Ridgid when I got a new saw, so I was able to sell the old saw and cover the cost of the new saw.
