wow, most of you guys have awesome setups.
I'm surprised to not see more basement-looking shops. growing up my dad's workshop was always in the basement, (as it is now, different house, but still the basement) my grandfather's was in the basement too.
I'm used to having to help get lumber into the shop through a window well window, fanagling it down the stairs, or in my parents's current house, the MUCH more convenient Coal Chute. (its a 100 year old house, so it has one of those, it actually works very well)
I think the whole "garage door to pull in the vehicle and unload" thing is much better.
I think I'm going to have like... one and a half walls of the second bedroom of our two bedroom apartment (it was always intended as a crafting type room... though now its just kinda a "piled full of crap" room.
thats some real nice stuff some of you guys have.

I have a basement shop - too embarrassed to show it, as it's likely the most meagre one of the bunch!

Andrew - no such thing.
It don't matter if a shop is no more than a scroll saw in a spare room in the house, and no other tools are available.
What does matter is that someone is ashamed of their shop - because it does not size up to some of the shops shown here.
NOT
ALL - woodworking is woodworking - size just doesn't matter.
I know for a fact that there is far nicer stuff done - in small shops and on a shoestring budget - than is some cadilac shops.
Sooo - don't be afraid to brag. I have seen your stuff --- you are good. And your shop supports your good work.

I have a basement shop - too embarrassed to show it, as it's likely the most meagre one of the bunch! It's not what's in your shop that counts, it's what comes out of your shop that really matters. I've seen some pretty nice stuff come out of your shop, so you got nothing to be ashamed of. It's the guys that have $20K in tools that can't make anything with it that should be ashamed in my book. ;D

It's not what's in your shop that counts, it's what comes out of your shop that really matters. Truer words were never written...not on a woodworking forum, anyway. James Krenov worked in a tiny basement shop when he was building his iconic cabinets and his unmatched reputation in Sweden. I've read that upon seeing his cabinets in person, one is surprised by how dimunitive they actually are and that's because his shop was so small. I "know" a turner who after his divorce set up his lathe in a closet in his apartment. I think he may still be working there, too. Like Mark's (Deathwish II) tag line reads, "It ain't the arrows, it's the Indian."

Yes, Leo those are Lista cabinets. I love them. Guess what? They didn't cost me a penny either. Did a decommission of a xerox whse in Austin. My 2 brothers and I, all got as many as the bobtail would carry. They just wanted them gone by the time the landlord arrived for his inspection. . I estimate about $15,000 worth of heavy duty, lifetime cabinetry. If you notice I have 2 / 8' x 42" conference tables sitting on top for my bench. Got them @ same time. Fred, yes sir I'm not the neatest woodworker in these parts. It is paint. . I usually have to pressure wash the entire floor about twice a year. Sloppiest painter you ever seen. Plus I HATE painting. No blood yet, to speak of. I am not sloppy w/ power tools.

What I want to know is what is the story behind this support (in the red circle). Looks like it just might be wood porn ;D

Andrew, I have seen some pretty neat ideas come from people with small shops. I bet you would be surprised that someone could very well see something in your shop that they could utilize.
Like it says at the top of the page "Our combined knowledge is our greatest asset"

Nice shop, Beez. It's well lit, air-conditioned (a must in North Texas, huh) you seem to have all of the important tools and there's even sawdust on the floor to show that they are used.
Thanks for showing.

Nice shop Joel. Would love to see some of your rustic furniture. I would also guess that blue is your favorite color.

Nice shop, Joel. Now I'm trying to figure out how to make enough room to get a couch out in my shop....lol. Might be too tempting though.

Nice Shop
What a crying shame that you have to leave those big wheeled thingy's in there just taking up space. What a shame.
But you do have a nice shop.
yes yes -- certainly show your furniture building stuff.
Did you know that rustic - stick - furniture sells for a pretty penny -- IF --- you can even find it.
