Alright guys - I've been making bunches of stuff - just not posting, partially because I've yet to devote any time to taking proper pictures... but - here are a few things I've made lately.
Back row (left to right) - three cherry bottle stoppers, then Bocote and Burmese Rosewood bottle stoppers minus the stopper part - they are back ordered.
Front row (left to right) - Bocote and Jatoba pen light/flash light, these were actually pretty cool, I'm very pleased with how the Jatoba came out. I'm not a fan of Gold hardware at all, really - but it does look nice IMO with the Jatoba.
.30 cal. cartridge pen with deer antler - this one I turned straight down to the bushings and it looks a lot better than the fatty I made before.
Slimline - maple burl from Gecko - nice stuff he sent!! Thanks Gecko!!
.50 cal. machine gun bullet pen with Padauk for wood. I was a little hesitant at first when trying this out, but it actually is pretty dang cool. Kind of a novelty ya know? It's really top heavy, but it's an actual bullet casing so.... not much you can do about that. I think some people are going to really dig this - I did polish up the brass casing as suggested, though the next ones I'm going to try and find a better way to do it - maybe an extra buffing wheel on the lathe or something.
Guardian Jr. with african blackwood w/ sapwood. VERY cool looking - I love this pen kit, I am going to make a Guardian Jr. for myself - if you haven't tried it yet, try one - you'll like it! It came with a nice Parker gel insert. It is a pretty good sized pen, about as big as I'd really ever want for myself - the Guardian is bigger yet.
Guardian Jr. with Coolibah Burl - again, VERY cool looking. The burl is subtle IMO, but the pen has a really nice....salmony pinkish color.
